The fourth annual Gussie Bennett Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament has concluded for 2023.
The tournament was from Thursday November 30 to Friday, December 1.
The championship game for the 12 and under division was Brayden’s team vs Martin’s Team with Brayden’s team winning the game 9 to 8.
In the 12 and under division, The Top Defensemen went to Milika Sillitt and Jaden Merkuratsuk, John Martin Angnatok and Desmond Henoche were the Most Sportsminded Players, the Top Females went to Zoey Ivany and Andie Harris, the Most Valuable Player was Brayden Karpik, and the Top Overall Goalie is Peter Dicker.
For the Men’s Division, Team Huskies went against Team Gussie for the Semi-finals, with the Huskies winning with a score of 14 to 13.
Team Huskies went against The Warriors for the Men’s championship game having the Warriors win the game by mercy rule of 11 to 1, making the Warriors the 2023 Gussie Bennett Memorial Ball Hockey Champions.
With the awards, Russell Barbour and John Dicker were the Top Defensemen, Stephen Denniston and Denzel Dicker got the Most Spots-Minded players, the most valuable players are Gustave Barbour and Samuel Flowers and the Top Goalie overall is Stephen Denniston.
