Clean-up of debris and old oil drums has started in the Nain area.
The debris was abandoned by mining companies years back.
Emma Sharkey is a Board Member with Restoration of Labrador Exploration Sites, or ROLES.
She says the clean up started yesterday.
Sharkey says a survey of the abandoned debris sites took place a couple of years ago.
There were a total of 72 sites surveyed and 514 old oil drums documented.
Stay tuned to AtjiKangitut tomorrow to hear Sharkey give you more information about the clean up, and how they are proceeding with the work.
