The Nigivik center started a gardening program in Nain on June 28, 2019.
Pam Webb is the Food Security Coordinator for the Nigivik Center.
Right now they are re-using 6 recycled bins for their garden.
So far they have planted seeds such as Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, Beets and Lettuce.
The garden is located by the Nigivik center.
Webb says she is hoping to get more people involved, and to meet weekly to see the process of the planted vegetables.
She hopes to hold more garden programs every year.
She adds anyone can come by to gather information on how to start your own gardening at home.
Right now they had three participants in the program, and participants are able to take home what they planted.
So if anyone would like to commit into the Gardening program at the Nigivik center they can do so by calling Pam at 922-2968 or come by to the center.
