New policy at the Libra House in Goose Bay

The Libra House has a new policy out now that women and children fleeing from violence are able to take their pets along with them.

Jessica Keating is the Executive Director for the Libra House in Goose-Bay- Goose Bay.

They have a list of people who are able to foster their pets during their stay at the Libra House, so women and children don’t have to worry about leaving their pets behind.

The Libra house provides the animal food, such as treats and food.

This is for any woman and child who is fleeing violence in their own home such as; sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, financial abuse and much more from a family member, any type of relationship, or a spouse.

There is a maximum link of stay but right now there can be three people can come to the Libra House.

The Libra House has been running now for 34 years, December 2020 will be their 35th year anniversary.

Keating adds that if anyone is thinking about leaving their unsafe environments please do so, and they accept women all over Labrador.
