Nunatsiavut hunters still haven’t seen any caribou within the Labrador Inuit Settlement Area.
Rigolet’s Conservation Officer, David Wolfrey, says there haven’t been any caribou in their area so far this year.
He does say that hunters have been travelling towards the North West River area and returning with caribou.
The case is the same in both Postville and Hopedale where hunters haven’t seen any of the animals.
A couple of hunters from Nain recently returned from searching for caribou.
They didn’t find any signs of the animals which still haven’t been spotted in the area so far this year.
Hunters and residents alike are patiently waiting for the caribou to arrive so they can have their first feed of fresh meat this winter.
