Language, Culture and Tourism are giving away free traditional items.
Shirley Jararuse is the Language Program Coordinator for Nunatsiavut Government.
She says for the Master Apprentice Program, they have 1 Apprentice for Nain, Hopedale and Rigolet but needs one in Makkovik and Postville.
The Master in Hopedale will be teaching the apprentices in both Hopedale and Postville.
Jararuse says they are also promoting our language and culture by exposing children to cultural items.
They have children’s books and work books from the school curriculum for the communities along the coast.
They also have cultural items made by Joey Angnatok such as seal skin cleaning board, an ulu, and a seal skin frame, along with a Kamutik for the children to play with at daycare.
OK Radio will have more information on other programs once they become available.
