Nain Oil Spill

On Friday there was a report of an Oil Spill in the Nain harbor.

We spoke with Angajukâk Joe Dicker of Nain.

Dicker says there was a report of an Oil spill on Friday August 19, at 4pm.

Dicker adds that the Nunatsiavut Government are aware of the issue and Ronald Webb is the Harbor authority; he is also aware of the oil spill.

He adds there is quite a bit of oil, and the oils have already evaporated in the harbor.

Angajukâk Dicker would like to inform the Nain residence to stay away from the Nain Harbor and not to fish.

The investigation is ongoing.

OKâlaKatiget society were in contact with Jim Goudie to get a follow up on the oil spill.
