The OKalaKatiget Society Radio department got in contact with the Fish Plants in Nain and in Makkovik.
Deidre Kohlmeister is the Office Supervisor for the Nain Fish Plant.
Kohlmeister says this is the last week for selling products, the last day will be on Saturday for selling Scallops, smoked char and char fillets.
She adds that, there are only two staff members remaining.
In Makkovik Angel Chaulk is the Clerk for the Makkovik Fish plant.
She says that there has been 438,383 pounds of turbot landed for the 2023 season.
All quota has be caught and all boats are gone.
Chaulk adds that there are 16 employees still working.
