Guy Fawkes day or night have been celebrated for many years. Every 5th of November, community members come together as a group to hold one big bon fire.
Some families hold their own bonfires on their private properties, and stuff together with old clothing, paper, grass, and other odd material items to make a dummy, and burn on the stick in the bon fire. Together as a family, or a community we gather around the bon fire, share laughs, snacks and some roasted wieners and marshmallows.
Guy Fawke’s night in Rigolet will be going ahead, on Sunday, November 5th at 6:30pm, this will be held at a new location, further in past the grave yard, at the turn around spot. You should be able to see the Fire Brigade members once you’re there.
We will be giving our audience an update for the other communities, once it becomes available.
