Some archeological work was taking place near Rigolet this summer.
Jamie Brake is an archeologist with Nunatsiavut Government.
He says the surveys project was very exciting.
Brake says this is the 3rd year working in that area in partnership with the Smithsonian Institute and the Rigolet Inuit Community Government.
William Fitziu, who is the head of arctic studies, has a long history in Labrador in archaeological research and geological work and was there on his research vessel, Pitsiulak .
Brake says they did recordings of where Innu and Inuit used to live and found some artifacts while they dug.
