The 25th annual Billy Quak Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament in Makkovik is over for another year.
The tournament was held over the weekend.
John Andersen is the Recreation Director in Makkovik.
He says a total of 5 teams took part.
They included Makkovik teams and a combined team of players from Postville.
Andersen says the top two teams of the tournament were from Makkovik. The third place team was Postville and Makkovik combined.
Herman’s Team captured 1st place, 2nd place went to Amos’ Team, and the Under Armour team finished in third place.
All of the award winners were from Makkovik.
Megan Andersen was named the Most Valuable Female Player.
Trent Pottle won Most Valuable Male Player, and the Top Goalie was Amos Fox.
Other trophy winners were Scott Allenby, who received the Paul Andersen Memorial Sportsmanlike Trophy, and Mandy Smith, who was awarded the Billy Quak Memorial Sportsmanlike Trophy.
Andersen says a total of $440.00 was raised from the team registration, all of which was donated to the Moravian Church.
