The OKâlaKatiget Society contacted the coastal DHSD’s for any updates for the remainder of September.
Rutie Lampe is Nain’s Mental Health and Addictions Worker for DHSD.
Lampe says there are a handful of events happening for Nain for the end of September that includes;
Residential School Survivor’s Supper held at the DHSD building on September 20th. There will be a Take Back The Night March on September 22nd, starting at the RCMP Station. Rutie will be helping hands for the ITK programs the week of the 25th, preparing food. And to end off the month of September, there will be a National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, Rutie adds that there will be a walk, with great food, and awesome door prizes along with promo items for children and adults.
Gemma Pottle is Makkovik’s Mental Health and Addictions Worker, and she is currently busy planning for the Elders gathering that is taking place September 24th to the 29th, and will give an update for October’s schedule once the planning process is finished.
