A substantial earthquake, one of the strongest experienced in the country over the last month, shook the seafloor off the coast of Labrador last week.
Earthquakes Canada reports that a 3.7 magnitude quake, deep in the Earth’s crust, struck on Tuesday about 138 km east of Nutak, on the edge of the continental shelf.
Nutak is just north of Nain. There is no immediate indication of whether the tremblor could be felt on the coast.
