Two More Moose Harvested by Nain Hunters

Two more moose licenses were used by Nain hunters over the weekend.

Eric Webb and Garnet Blake are the latest to claim their moose.

They both made their kill on Fourth Pond, which is just outside of the community.

They used a .243 rifle to take down the animals.

Both moose were male, weighed around 800 pounds each and had 13-point antlers.

The hunters said there appeared to be tracks from other moose in the area as well.

The latest two kills bring the number of moose claimed around Nain to three this year.

Three licenses still remain for the community.

No moose licenses have been used in the other Nunatsiavut communities to date.
