Cain’s Quest Organizers in Nain Discussing Preparations for the Race (Audio)

Representatives of the Cain’s Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race are in Nain sorting out some of the logistics of the upcoming event.

Todd Kent, Co-Chair of Cain’s Quest and Cliff Winsor, the Race Marshall, dropped OKâlaKatiget Radio’s studio.

Kent says they’re in the community to meet with the Nain Inuit Community Government and others to discuss preparations for the race.

Nain will serve as one of three mandatory layover stops.

The stop will allow the racers to rest for a 10-hour period before heading out again.

A $5, 000 purse is on the line for the first three teams to make it to the community.

Kent says they will require a number of volunteers from Nain to make the race a success.

Volunteers are also required at the checkpoints in Postville, Makkovik, Hopedale and Natuashish.
