The spring sitting of the Nunatsiavut Assembly wrapped up on Wednesday morning with a couple of big announcements.
President Jim Lyall made the announcement that the Minister of Education and Economic Development, Susan Nochasak, is resigning effective Wednesday.
Nochasak is doing so because of personal reasons.
President Lyall states that the First Minister, Darryl Shiwak, will take over the portfolio of Education and Economic Development.
Lyall also announced that he will not be seeking re-election this spring.
The election of a new President of Nunatsiavut is set to take place in May.
