Nain to Receive New Senior’s Van

The town of Nain is set to receive a new van for the use of transporting the community’s seniors.

Recreation Director Lisa Ivany says they hope to have the vehicle in place this summer.

She says the main purpose of the van will be to transport seniors to and from the future multi-purpose centre.

A designated ‘Senior’s Room’ will be contained in the facility.

She hopes the van will allow the community’s elders to participate in the recreational activities that they will offer.

The van may also be used to transport seniors for personal reasons such as going to the store or post office.

They’re currently in the process of determining who will operate the van.

The use of volunteers is one of the ideas being discussed.

Funding for the new vehicle is being provided by the International Grenfell Association.
