Noah Nochasak Forced to End Paddle to George River

Noah Nochasak and his fellow Kayakers have been forced to end their effort to paddle to George River, Nunavik.

Noah’s Father, Levi Nochasak, says an injury is among the factors that forced the group of three to turn back.

He says that Noah suffered a wrist injury when he slipped down.

Levi says a chopper travelled to their location to check on Noah and reported that he was okay.

The group is currently north of Saglek in St. John’s Harbour.

Levi says the paddlers are also running low on food and time.

The weather has prevented the group from reaching the Torngat Mountains base camp.

A chopper will bring the paddlers to Nain once they make it to the camp.
