Northern Ranger to Return to Service in a Week or Two?

The MV Northern Ranger is expected to be back in service in about a week to two.

That is according to CAI Nunatsiavut Marine Inc. in Happy Valley Goose Bay.

The passenger/ freight boat is at the Quebec dock yard, where she’s getting repairs on the gearbox.

Bridgett Chaulk of CAI group says the repairs are progressing well.

The MV Astron is still busy shipping freight in and out of the north coast communities.

Chaulk says the Lewisporte and Goose Bay terminals have no backlogged freight.

She says the freighter alternates between the two terminals on each trip.

The Astron is returning to the north coast communities this week with a full load of freight, and will pick up more freight from Goose Bay on the way north.

We will have more coverage on the Northern Ranger when it becomes available
