No Backlog on Freight Yet (Audio)

The only freight boat, MV Astron, has been able to maintain its schedule to date.

Chris Newman is the Vice- president of CAI Nunatsiavut Marine.

He says there is no backlog of freight to be shipped to the north coast communities.

Newman added freight has not been sitting in warehouses for a long period of time, and is being monitored on a daily or weekly basis.

Meanwhile, the MV Northern Ranger refit is ongoing, and the vessel will be back in operation next year.

He says the CAI chartered flights will maintain their schedule until such time that the weather conditions would have prevented the Ranger from operating.
