There will be a power outage in Nain tonight from 12 midnight to 8 am (Sunday Dec 16 from 12 midnight to 8 am).
According to NL Hydro’s Energy Control Centre in St. John’s, the outage will be due to repairs being done in the diesel plant.
The outage is expected to affect power in the following areas of town:
The new subdivision by the dam will be off from 12 am for approximately 2-3 hours.
After that, an area from the hospital to the airstrip will be off for 2-3 hours.
Then the new subdivision will lose power again until 8 am.
There is also a possibility that power could be out in both areas at the same time if there is a strain on the system.
