Family Literacy Day has been recognized all across Canada for about 17 years now and is held every January in Nain for grades Kindergarten to grade 3.
It was held on January 27, this year and there was a great turnout filled with students and parents, grandparents, siblings, buddy readers, and other family and friends.
Irene Webb a former Kindergarten teacher with the Jens Haven Primary School was the guest reader, she read “Thomas’ Snowsuit” by Robert Munsch.
Robert Munsch is very well known to children and adults all across Canada.
