The community of Hopedale continues to deal with problems caused by low water levels at the town’s water supply.
Wayne Piercy is the AngajukKak of the Inuit Community Government.
He says low pressure due to the low water levels caused one of the main water lines to freeze.
A temporary line was installed on Monday to deal with the issue.
That line froze within a few hours.
Piercy says the temporary line had to be removed so it could be thawed.
They’re planning to wait for warmer temperatures before they put it back in place.
Piercy says they had more water pumps flown in to help prevent the temporary line from freezing.
They will also be installed when the weather gets warmer.
The water pressure has since increased enough to open the school.
The school was closed on Monday because of the water pressure issues.
