The Huskies Boy’s and Girl’s Ball Hockey teams both placed first in their respective regional qualifying tournaments in Churchill Falls this past weekend.
Deidre Barney was one of the teachers that travelled with the Huskies.
She says that they were supposed to fly out Friday, but due to the weather they didn’t get to fly until later Saturday morning.
The Huskies defeated Churchill Falls in a best of 3 round robin.
Not only did the boys and girls Huskies teams bring home the gold medals and banner, but Trevor Dicker received Most Sportsmanlike Player for the Tournament.
The girl’s Huskies team will be travelling to Burgeo on May 2nd for the Provincial Ball Hockey Tournament.
The boy’s Huskies team will be competing in the Provincials in Kings Point May 5th.
Barney added that she would like to send a special thanks out to Mr. Jeremy Taylor, the other teacher that travelled with the students.
