The town of Happy Valley Goose Bay are preparing for their annual tree lighting ceremony, along with their annual Santa Parade.
We spoke with Greg Osmond the Community Development Manager for the town of Happy Valley Goose Bay.
Osmond says the tree lighting will be held on Dec.7, 2023 at 6pm located at the town hall.
Some Christmas carols, choir singing Christmas carols, hot chocolate provided and
Free skating at the EJ Broomfield from 7pm to 7:50pm.
And the Santa Parade will be held on Saturday December 9, 2023.
Starts at the Lady Queen of Peace School and finish at the College of the North Atlantic.
The first parade will be held at 2-4pm for the static parade with no flashing lights for autistics at the outside the arena, then at 6pm the Annual parade will begin.
Santa Claus will be there at the College of North Atlantic to be handling Christmas treats for the children at the college of north Atlantic.
He adds that the tree winter lights completion for best decorated house, judging will start on Dec. 11 ,12 ,13.
And the public will be the judges on who wins, the prizes this year will be gift certificates.
First place prize will be a $200 gift card and the second prize will be $150 gift card then the first prize will be a $100 gift card. You must register with the Town to take part in the Decorated house contest.
