A meeting was held in Goose Bay last week in regards to the concerns over the effects of methyl mercury from Muskrat Falls.
Johannes Lampe, president of Nunatsiavut Government attended the workshop.
He says many other representatives also attended from businesses and organizations to give their input and concerns.
Lampe says they were asking to have the area cleared of brush and trees at Muskrat Falls before it is flooded.
He says Minister of Environment and Conservation, Perry Trimper also attended.
Researchers from Harvard University and Memorial University also presented the research they did on the effects of methyl mercury.
Lampe says they will now wait for word from Minister Trimper, whom they hoped to convince to reconsider the decision about their plan to flood.
