There will soon be upcoming and ongoing research related to capelin going on in Nunatsiavut communities.
Chelsea Boaler, a PhD student with the Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research, will be conducting meetings in partnership with the Nunatsiavut Conservation officers.
Scheduled community meetings are as follows:
Rigolet: April 30, 2018 at the Seniors Centre at 7 pm
Makkovik: Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Arena (Multi-Purpose Room) at 7 pm
Postville: Wednesday May 2, 2018 at the Recreation Centre at 7 pm
Hopdale: Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Nunatsiavut Assembly Building Boardroom at 7 pm
Nain: Friday, May 7 at the Atsanik Lodge Boardroom at 7 pm.
Meetings in Makkovik and Rigolet will include information on upcoming acoustic work in the region.
Also, meetings in Rigolet will include results from previous salmon work.
