Michel Andrew will be taking the first steps of a 900 kilometre walk on Wednesday.
Andrew, who is known throughout Labrador as ‘Giant’, recently arrived in Kawawachikamach, the starting point of his venture.
Andrew and other 40 people will begin their lengthy trek tomorrow.
The route will take them from Kawawachikamach to Natuashish and then Nain.
The walkers will then make their way back to Andrew’s home community of Sheshatshiu.
The group is making the tracks across Quebec and Labrador in support of the cultural and diabetes awareness.
