There will be an information session on the Nain Airport Project on Monday October 16, 2023 at the Nunatsiavut Research Centre (Pulaapvik Meeting Room) from 6:30-8pm.
The new airport will replace the existing infrastructure that is currently under stress from the impacts of climate change. Studies have determined that the existing runway is unsafe and cannot be expanded or upgraded. This project is presently undergoing feasibility studies, which are scheduled to be completed by June 2024.
This information session will provide a brief presentation of past, current, and future studies completed around the project, and will allow time for the public to ask questions pertaining to the proposed airstrip.
