Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) President Natan Obed isn’t happy about Facts Sheets on Inuit Regions recently released by Statistics Canada.
He says that he would have like to have seen more participation on the surveys from Inuit, including in the planning stages.
In an interview with OK Radio, Obed talked at length about some of the main issues today’s Inuit are dealing with.
Issues like lack of Inuktitut speakers in Nunatsiavut, overcrowding, education for youth, and mental health and addictions.
Obed says, however, that he is cautiously optimistic about the positive impact the federal government may have on these issues.
