The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is looking to hire 3 Indigenous teachers for the Jens Haven Memorial School in Nain.
This is a permanent position, working 10 months, 25 hours per week.
Work performed includes providing instructional support to the students in the school. Work may require independent planning, preparation, and delivery of a prescribed curriculum. Assist and perform Life Skills instruction to students.
Education requirements:
• Must be a high school graduate
• Teaching Certificate and/or active participation in NNTP is an asset
• Strong verbal and written language skills (English and Inuttitut)
• Applicants must have knowledge of child growth and behaviour management, and must have knowledge of the positive relations necessary for education/learning to occur
• Preference will be given to candidates with the most education, cultural knowledge and related experience
Terms of employment and salary will be as per the NAPE Collective Agreement.
