Nominations for Makkovik and Rigolet AngajukKâk

Call for nominations of candidates for AngajukKâk in Makkovik will run from 9am to 4pm today August 16 until August 23rd.

A person is qualified to be nominated as a candidate for AngajukKâk if he or she:

• Is an Inuk
• Is of the full age of 19 years
• Is an ordinary resident in the community where he or she is nominated to serve as AngajukKâk; and
• Has been an ordinary resident in that community since at least the day that is the sixtieth day proceeding the date of the election

The candidate, along with the nominator and seconder and a witness is to be present during the nomination. The forms to be completed are:

Form A-1 – Nomination of AngajukKâk to be completed by proposer and seconder, and signed off by Candidate signifying acceptance of the nomination. Candidates signature must have witness.

Form A-1 – Oath of Affirmation of Candidate for AngajukKâk to be completed by Candidates at the time of nomination. Candidate is to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of $25.00.

Also, nominations of Candidates for the community of Rigolet shall be received during the regular work days between the hours of 9am to 4pm starting today August 16 to 23rd, 2022 at the Town Office, 1 Pierre Marcoux Drive.
