Post Pandemic Plan Not at the Forefront Right Now, says Health Minister

The province’s health minister says it’s premature to think about the planning for coming out the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic at this time.

John Haggie says they need to see what the effects of the Easter weekend will have on the province’s figures. Only then will they be in a better position to make an estimate about any kind of return to some kind of normal.

Haggie says there has been discussion around the idea. For example, Europe is saying four weeks without a case, and other areas less.

He says they will cross that bridge when they come to it and use the most up to date public health guidance at that point. Then, the question is around it not being a free-for-all, and how they re-introduce a return to normality.
