Communities across the province united with a single message on Thursday evening: we don’t want what happened to Burton Winters to happen to anyone else.
Rallies were held from St. John’s to Nain on Thursday evening to remember Burton Winters and demonstrate the need for a permanent Search and Rescue unit in this province.
Natalie Jacque, Burton Winter’s stepmother, says she’s overwhelmed by the show of support from throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
Jacque says it started as an idea and quickly turned into a province-wide demonstration.
She says she was taken aback by the amount of people’s lives that have been touched by Burton Winters.
