Daycare And College Reopen

The Pigutsavik Nain Daycare center has reopened their doors as of September 8.

We spoke with Lorraine Dicker, the Daycare Operator.

Dicker says registrations were held on September 3.

And right now they have 26 children registered, with 2 on the waiting list.

Dicker says the Toddler room has 10 children enrolled from ages 24-36 months, with two teachers.

The Preschool room can hold 16 children from ages 36-72 months.

In total they have 10 staff available in the center, including a floater helper and the Language Nest workers.

She says the Language Nest should be up and running by end of this month or next month; a date is yet to be determined.

The center is still accepting applications for the Language Nest for ages 3 months to 24 months.

And Pigutsavik is still accepting applications to enrol in the center, but there is a waitlist.

The center is open from 8:15am to 4:45pm.

Academy Canada at the College of the North Atlantic in Nain opened their doors to students on September 3rd.

Jerry Hapgood is the Facilitator.

He says there are 12 students registered, and the average is 10 students each day.

Individuals who want to enroll in Academy Canada  can still register.

Hapgood says individuals can get application forms at the college, or can apply online at www.academycanada.com.
