The school year of 2021-2022 is close to an end and OK Radio contacted each school along the coast to see when they will have their proms.
All schools will have their last day on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, and begin with the summer holidays.
Kent Chaulk is the principal for the Jens Haven Memorial School in Nain.
He says they already had their prom on May 7th, they will have their cap and gown sometime next month but there is no official date yet.
Steve Brazil is the Principal for the Northern Lights Academy in Rigolet.
He says that their prom will be on Saturday, May 28th. They have no theme, but they have a quote that says “Go Forth and Set the World on Fire” with the colors of black, gold, and purple.
Jennifer Winters is in charge of the graduation for the Amos Comenius Memorial School (ACMS) in Hopedale.
Their prom will be on Saturday, June 4th. The prom theme will be Hawaiian and will have the colors of purple, black and silver.
In Makkovik, the J.C. Erhardt Memorial School got four graduates graduating, their prom theme is “Starry Night”, which will be on Saturday, June 25th.
In Postville, the B.L. Morrison Memorial School have one graduate this year, they have no theme, but they will have their prom on Friday May 20th.
