Yesterday it was announced that there are 2 new cases, both in Western Health.
Today they announced no new cases. There is now 244 total cases in NL (227 EH, 6 LGH, 8 CH, 3 WH) *Cases are total cases since the beginning and not just the active cases.
The demographic breakdown is 53% female, 47% male.
By age, we have 20 people under the age of 20, 37 between 20-39, 33 between 40-49, 53 between 50-59, 54 between 60-69, and 47 who are 70 or above.
9 people are in hospital and 3 of these patients are in an intensive care unit (ICU).
133 people have now recovered and 4,907 people have been tested so far.
Sadly, three people have died from COVID-19 in NL.
Thank you to those who adhered to the public health recommendations and celebrated Easter differently this year.
I am still receiving reports of people “looking for loopholes” and this is unacceptable. People must stop trying to find ways to work around the guidelines and simply use good judgment. If you have to ask if something is allowed, it might not be the best decision, so please take the advice seriously.

Wash your hands for 20 seconds, cough into you elbow or a tissue, and STAY HOME if you are sick – even if it’s just a sniffle!
